Uraga is both the name of the greater area and this specific washing station located in the Sonkolle Kebele (village) in Guji. The producer, Israel Degfa, has shifted his main priority to controlling the quality of processing and post-harvest development across all 13 of his farms and 30 washing stations. Not only does Isreal produce exceptional coffee, but he offers support to local communities by building schools and ensures access to clean drinking water for the students.
Uraga is located above 2000 masl, and the farms are located at even higher altitudes reaching up to 2400 masl. There are a lot of new plantings in the area following traditional practises with wet fermentation, grading in channels by water and drying on raised beds, making the coffee shine with unique character. Expect tropical fruits, stone fruits and delicate tea flavours in this complex cup.
